POSITION:                     Gift Planning Specialist - full time (exempt)

NATURE OF WORK:

The Gift Planning Specialist is responsible to the Executive Director of Personal Giving and will assist the Director with the development and implementation of the Planned Giving and Major Gifts Program throughout the Division.

ILLUSTRATION OF DUTIES:

The duties of the Gift Planning Specialist shall include but not be limited to:

1.                   Closing planned gifts & $5,000+ Major Individual Gifts.

2.                   Calling a minimum of 200 prospects to determine needs, make appointments etc... 

3.                   Visiting at least 15 prospects and donors monthly. 

4.                   Key donor research. 

5.                   Appreciation Certificate visitation of personal representatives and family of donors and prospects. 

6.                   Donor award visitation and presentation. 

7.                   Memorial Certificate oversight and visitation. 

8.                   Stock gift oversight. 

9.                   Attend professional growth events in the area of Planned Giving. 

10.               Property and Real Estate donations including Cemetery Lot Transfers.           

11.               Any other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 Prefer degree in a related field; good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; availability to work evenings and weekends depending on the schedule of the individual donors and prospects.  Must show the ability to close gifts

 SUPERVISION:

 The position requires someone with excellent people, communication and presentation skills.  Must be comfortable with considerable phone work and travel.  It is important that this person be a team player and flexible.  Knowledge in basis tax consequences of charitable giving are a plus. This person must be able to work with little or no supervision.  Professional training will be provided.
