LEAVE A LEGACY® Southeast Michigan
What is the LEAVE A LEGACY program? LEAVE A LEGACY is a partnership between charitable organizations and the planned giving community to promote planned gifts. The organization includes attorneys, accountants, financial planners, foundations, nonprofit organizations and others interested in increasing individuals' and nonprofit organizations' knowledge of and use of charitable estate planning. There are similar programs being conducted throughout the country. It is estimated that only 5% of individuals leave something to charity in their wills. If this amount can be increased to 10% or 15% or more, the potential benefit to Michigan charities and therefore to all Michigan residents can be tremendous. LEAVE A LEGACY promotes a higher level of charitable giving through T.V., radio, newspaper and billboard advertising in the spring of each year.
