George Westerman is Senior Philanthropy Director for Gift Planning serving Trinity Health in Southeast Michigan.  Philanthropy is a second career for George, following 25 years helping enterprises implement large systems technology. Working for social good, and in gift planning specifically, is truly where he belongs, though. Act II of George’s career, in philanthropy, has been honed at The Children’s Foundation and now at Trinity Health. George has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University, and holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IU.  Through membership in the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan and his service on the board of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, George seeks to join others in elevating the profession and helping the next generation of gift planners see it as a virtuous and fulfilling vocation.
