Asking for a Planned Gift
Presenter: Judith A Smith, MA, CFRE, President, GivingSMITH
It is not the same as getting an auction item donated: Asking for a Planned Gift
Unlike an annual appeal letter, a renewal of a membership, or asking for an auction item, asking for a planned gift is asking to be considered a member of the family. Assets, not cash or things, are involved. There must be consideration for other family members. Your own personal asking style will help direct your efforts, as well as understanding the basic types of gifts you might receive. You will spend an energetic hour learning how to move beyond asking for a haircut and styling products to being included in someone’s estate plan. Before the program go to www.askingmatters.com and come to the meeting knowing your primary and secondary asking styles.
